Summer research opportunities will be available in a variety of biological and biomedical sciences including (but not limited to): AI in medicine, bioinformatics, computational biology, genomics, biophysics, biotechnology, cancer biology, cell biology, chemical biology and pharmacology, developmental and regenerative biology, genetics, immunology, infectious diseases, microbiology, molecular and structural biology, neuroscience, systems biology, and virology. Considerable emphasis is placed on placing students in labs suiting their research interests. However, placement in specific labs is not guaranteed.

Please note that SHURP students perform research in laboratories at the Longwood Medical Area campus in Boston. When you search for potential faculty you are interested in, please make sure their labs are located in ZIP code 02115 or 02215. Please note that is not required or encouraged to reach out to faculty in advance of applying.
