How to Apply to SHURP
Apply through the Leadership Alliance. There are two Harvard programs, make sure to select "Medical Sciences." For more information about the Leadership Alliance, including the application process click here.
Application Requirements
- A strong, succinct, and clearly structured statement of purpose explaining your goals, research interests, research experience, and why you want to participate in SHURP (no more than 1000 words)
- Two strong letters of recommendation that discuss your work in the lab and/or in the classroom
- A demonstrated commitment to scientific research, as shown by coursework, research, and recommendations
- Unofficial transcript(s) in PDF format

Applications for SHURP 2023 will open on November 1st.
*Due to the academic schedule of students on the quarter system, dates may be modified for these students.
